Your mom’s gift could help put a solar oven package into the hands of a mother who struggles to feed, clothe and educate her children. That oven could end up with a family in the Dominican Republic, Sierra Leone, or on the Navajo Nation. Her gift of cooking with the sun would save a family the cost of cooking fuel, provide a safer and smokeless way to cook, and reduce deforestation by using the sun to cook instead of using wood or charcoal fires. That oven could pasteurize water, reducing illness—especially in her children.
